To be nominated by a province and increase Express Entry CRS, the applicant must have a valid Express Entry profile with minimum CRS score of 300 points, meets and maintains minimum requirements of either Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades or Canadian Experience Class stream

Open Express Entry Profile
Submit an Express Entry profile to IRCC when eligible with Alberta as the destination. Candidate will be selected directly from candidate pool.Profile valid for 12 months
Provincial invitation
Candidates with strong ties to the province or working in priority occupations will be invited directly to submit the nomination application.
Submit the application within 30 days
Nomination Decision
Application approved, the applicant receives a Nomination Certificate to update their Express Entry profile and receive additional points.
Province reviews in 1 - 3 months
Federal invitation
Applicant having a higher CRS score or same CRS score with the profile created earlier will receive invitation to apply.
Profiles are selected every 2 weeks
Get PR Status
Enter Canada within 12 months or confirm online with IRCC if already in Canada after approval.
IRCC reviews in 6 months
Candidate who has submitted their application to IRCC before the expiry of work permit may apply for a work permit extension to continue working legally.

Specific requirements
Important requirements the applicant should note
Immigration Ineligibility
- Are under removal order
- Have an active application for refugee
- Have a valid nomination under any AAIP stream or eligible for extension
- Have been refused for the AAIP for a specified period of time and submit the application during that period
- Have a job offer or currently working in a part-time, casual or seasonal position
- Have a job offer or currently working as an independent contractor or a project-based employee
- Work at a premise outside of Alberta
Basic requirements
- Have a valid Express Entry profile
- The primary occupation of Express Entry profile is the same occupation as current employment or job offer
- Have CRS score of at least 300 points
- Are currently working or have a full-time job offer in Alberta
Accelerated Tech Pathway
- Have been working full-time in an occupation on the Accelerated Tech Pathway list for an employer operating in the tech industry, based on the AAIP list of eligible North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes
Health Care Pathway
- Have a full-time job offer for at least 12 months
- Have authorization to practice in Alberta in a health care profession
- Be an active member of a health care association such as:
- Physicians: College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)
- Registered Nurses (RNs): College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs): College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- Nurse Practitioners (NPs): College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- Physician Assistants: College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)
- Occupational Therapists: Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
- Physiotherapists: College of Physiotherapists of Alberta (CPA)
- Clinical Social Workers: Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW)
- Psychologists: College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)
Law Enforcement Pathway
- Have a job offer from an Alberta employer in the Alberta police services, in an occupation under NOC 40040, 41340, 42100
- Be identified by the Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police as an internationally recruited police officer
Family connection
- Have a parent, child, or sibling living in Alberta who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and is at least 18 years old
Priority sectors
- Have experience (with or without a job offer) in a high-demand occupation identified as high or moderately high in Alberta’s Occupational Outlook or Short-Term Employment Forecast
Job offer
- Under the same occupation with the primary occupation in Express Entry profile
- Full-time and continuous of 12 months or more
- Compensate a wage that meets or exceeds provincial minimum wage
- The employer is located in Alberta
- Candidate cannot have more than 10% ownership
The employer
- Operates at least 2 years in Albeta
- Work location is based in Albeta
- Have revenue of at least $400,000
- Have at least 3 employees who are Canadian or Permanent Resident and working full-time
