Application process

Nomination submission
Stage 1

Having the job offer, complete the application with the employer when eligible and submit to the province by hand, mail or email.

Decision of Nomination
Stage 2

Application approved, the applicant receives a Nomination Certificate to support their PR application to IRCC, valid for up to 6 months.
Province reviews in 12 - 14 weeks

PR submission
Stage 3

Maintain the conditions of nomination, attach Nomination Certificate to the PR application, and then submit them to IRCC.IRCC reviews in 15 - 19 months

Get PR Status
Stage 4

Application approved, the applicant gets Permanent Resident status after landing or confirming on IRCC Portal.Confirmation valid within 12 months

Applicant with work permit expiring within 180 days, who had submitted PR application to IRCC and is maintaining the conditions of nomination may be eligible to receive a work permit support letter from the province to renew their work permit.

  • Are under a removal order in or outside of Canada

Basic requirements

  • Sign tripartite agreement between applicant, employer and province

  • At least 1-year work experience within the last 10 years and relate to the job offer

Education

  • Equivalent to Canadian high-school
  • Foreign education credential(s) must be assessed by Educational Credential Assessment
  • Meet graduation requirements if holding a valid study permit

Job offer

  • Full-time permanent (35+ hours/week) under TEER category 0, 1, 2, 3 occupations with a wage that meets or exceeds the median wage of the same occupation for the region

Language

Minimum CLB 5 for TEER category 0, 1, 2, 3 or CLB 4 for TEER category 4, assessed by 1 of 4 language proficiency tests within the last 2 years:

Employer

  • Have the business registered with the province
  • Do business for at least 1 year (3 years if non-profit organization) in Yukon
  • Demonstrate enough efforts of hiring Canadian or Permanent Residents
  • Operate by Canadian or Permanent Resident, fully complies with provincial business-related laws and regulations
  • Have settlement and retention plans to help potential employees stay in the province

Basic requirements

  • The applicant is working in Canada, was issued the work permit for this program before.
  • The applicant complies with the job offer conditions for 2 years while the permanent resident application is in process.
  • Sign tripartite agreement between applicant, employer and province

Job offer

  • Maximum 3 part-time positions equivalent to 1 full-time position, from up to 3 employers in the same region (not including seasonal jobs)
  • Pay the same wage equal to the highest wage of all hiring positions

Employer

  • Operate in the regions of Carcross, Carmacks, Dawson City, Watson Lake, Haines Junction or Whitehorse
  • Have the business registered with the province, and fully complies with provincial business-related laws and regulations
  • Do business for at least 1 year (3 years if non-profit organization) in Yukon
  • Have settlement and retention plans to help potential employees stay in the province
  • If one employer stops hiring and affects the total working hours, the province will notify the other employers to adjust the working hours within 90 days by increasing the working hours or partnering with another employer.
