Northwest Territories
Northwest Territories is one of 3 autonomous regions, whose capital and most populated one is Yellowknife. The Northwest Territories include a multitude of islands, with Victoria Island being its most popular. It's considered the world's 8th largest peninsula. Half of Canada's indigenous population resides there, which makes it a special place to explore the foundation of Canada. In fact, the Northwestern Territories are often seen as the country's best frontier, where visitors can witness beautiful lights such as the aurora borealis, which is a spectacle hard to find elsewhere!
The Northwest's main economic activities include oil, mining, construction, filmmaking, and tourism. Speaking of mining, the territory is considered a major diamond exporter, making up 85% of Canada's export value, and 16% of the world's share. Other rare metals are mined there too, and are considered contributors to the region's economy. Mining aside, the Northwest autonomous region boasts a beautiful natural environment that brings in tourists while encouraging outdoor activities. They include summer hunting, skiing, and observing the winter-spring aurora borealis. The region's landscape is used for the production of multiple films, greatly contributing to the territory’s income.
The Northwest Territories offer migration programs that capitalize on the region's economy. The programs match individuals of any job level. An unskilled worker applicant can get permanent residency there after just 6 months of work. Migrating investors get a special set of programs with their own requirements, which vary based on what they're investing in. Over all, low capital and a fast track to permanent residence are available. This makes the region's programs ideal for business people and workers settling there, especially if they're experienced in cinema or tourism!
