Process timeline of preparing and reviewing the application

Open Express Entry Profile
Submit an Express Entry profile to IRCC when eligible with Northwest Territories as the destination. The profile is scored and ranked.Profile valid for 12 months
Nomination submission
Applicant and employer create a PNP profile and submit required documents to NTNP Online when all requirements are met.
Decision of Nomination
Application approved, the applicant receives a Nomination Certificate to update their Express Entry profile and receive additional points.Province reviews in 10 weeks
Federal invitation
Applicant having a higher CRS score or same CRS score with the profile created earlier will receive invitation to apply.
Profiles are selected every 2 weeks
Get PR Status
Application approved, the applicant gets Permanent Resident status after landing or confirming on IRCC Portal.IRCC reviews in 6 months
o has submitted their application to IRCC before the expiry of work permit may apply for a work permit extension to continue working legally.

Basic requirements
- Have a valid work permit, unless under exceptional circumstances (must consult with the province)

- Foreign education credential(s) must be assessed by Educational Credential Assessment

Work experience
- At least 1 year of full-time work experience within the last 10 years
Job offer
- Permanent full-time (37.5 hours per week) under TEER category 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupations with the wage that is comparable, meets or exceeds the median wage of the same occupation in the province (or Yukon, North Alberta, Alberta, Canada if the information is not available)
Language
Minimum CLB 7 (TEER category 0 or 1) or CLB 5 (TEER category 2 or 3) if the job offer is under NOC C, assessed by 1 of 4 language proficiency tests within the last 2 years:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) General Training
- Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP-General)

Employer
- Operate by Canadian or Permanent Resident
