To be nominated by a province and substantially increase Express Entry CRS, the applicant must have a valid Express Entry profile with minimum CRS score of 300 points, meets and maintains minimum requirements of either Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades or Canadian Experience Class stream

Open Express Entry Profile
Submit an Express Entry profile to IRCC when eligible with Alberta as the destination. Candidate will be selected directly from candidate pool.Profile valid for 12 months
Provincial invitation
Candidates with strong ties to the province or working in priority occupations will be invited directly to submit the nomination application.
Submit the application within 30 days
Decision of Nomination
Application approved, the applicant receives a Nomination Certificate to update their Express Entry profile and receive additional points.
Province reviews in 1 - 3 months
Federal invitation
Applicant having a higher CRS score or same CRS score with the profile created earlier will receive invitation to apply.
Profiles are selected every 2 weeks
Get PR Status
Application approved, the applicant gets Permanent Resident status after landing or confirming on IRCC Portal.
IRCC reviews in 6 months
Candidate who has submitted their application to IRCC before the expiry of work permit may apply for a work permit extension to continue working legally.

Immigration Ineligibility
- Are under removal order
- Have an active application for refugee
- Have a valid nomination under any AAIP stream or eligible for extension
- Have been refused for the AAIP for a specified period of time and submit the application during that period
Negative considerations
- Have a Express Entry profile expires in 5 months or less
- The primary occupation in the Express Entry profile is on the list of Refusal to Process LMIA occupations or Ineligible Occupations, or has high volume of submissions across all AAIP streams
Positive considerations
- Have a job offer with an employer in Alberta
- Have graduated from a post-secondary institution in Canada
- Have a relative (parent, child or sibling) who is Canadian or Permanent Resident
- French is the first language
Basic requirements
- Have a valid Express Entry profile
- The primary occupation in Express Entry profile will support Alberta’s economic development and diversification
- Have CRS score of at least 300 points
- The candidate selected Alberta as an interest for immigration

- Full-time and continuous of 12 months or more
- Compensate a wage that meets or exceeds provincial minimum wage
- The employer is located in Alberta
- Candidate cannot have more than 10% ownership

- Have a job offer or currently working as an independent contractor or a project-based employee
- Work at a premise outside of Alberta
Basic requirements
- Have a valid Express Entry profile
- The primary occupation of Express Entry profile is the same occupation as current employment or job offer
- Have CRS score of at least 300 points
- Are currently working or have a full-time job offer in Alberta
- Have a valid work permit (including maintained work permit)
- Intend and have the ability to work and live permanently in Alberta
Job offer
- Under the same occupation with the primary occupation in Express Entry profile
- Full-time continuous for 12 months or more under Accelerated Tech Pathway occupations
- Compensate a wage that meets or exceeds provincial minimum wage
- The employer is located in Alberta
- Candidate cannot have more than 10% ownership
The employer
- Operate in tech industry as defined by the AAIP list of eligible North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)
- Candidate cannot have more than 10% ownership
- Offer a full-time position for at least 12 months
- Compensate a wage that meets or exceeds the lowest starting wage for your occupation across all industries in Alberta
